About the car

Originally leaving the factory with open Harrison bodywork, exactly as it looks today! Restored by the world’s leading Bentley restoration experts R.C. Moss ltd. R.C. Moss have won more Pebble Beach awards with their W.O. Bentleys than any other company in history. Simply put, “The Best of the Best” With only about 3km driven since restoration. The intention was to display at Pebble Beach so it was restored to the highest level concours standards. Unfortunately, due to health reasons this did not happen and the owner has now decided to sell.

About the car

BWE 140 is a rare Aston Martin Mk II Factory fitted with a 1,492cc Ulster specification engine. Ordered in 1935, the car was upgraded during construction with the former Works Ulster TT engine used by Prince Bira, and rebuilt by Aston Martin before installation. The first owner Mr. Flather successfully campaigned the car in rallies and hill climbs, earning Second in Class Awards in both the 1936 and 1937 RAC Rallies and competing in the 1936 Scottish Six Days Trial.

This car is ready to be displayed or driven immediately, and will benefit the new owner by being immediately available at a price substantially less than the restoration costs. Massive restoration album with hundreds of photographs and even a specially made leather bound book detailing the history of the car along with almost every stage of the restoration.

Rare vehicle

After being resold in 1937, BWE 140 disappeared from public view for many years before being rediscovered in Cornwall. It was restored by Norman Brock and won First Prize at the Yeovil Festival of Motoring in 1981. Later owner Geoffrey Godber-Ford carried out a comprehensive mechanical and cosmetic refurbishment, including a full engine rebuild, brake overhaul, reupholstered black Connolly leather interior, renewed chromework, and a repaint. Today the Aston proudly wears "Prince Bira blue" paintwork and carries the famous White Mouse Racing emblem, a white mouse and Siamese flag motif that served as the team's mascot during the 1935 racing season.

Engine

It was equipped with an advanced and innovative single overhead camshaft engine, which featured an aluminum block and cast iron head and had a displacement of 2570cc. The engine was designed in a narrow-V configuration, with an included angle between the cylinder banks of just 13 degrees.

Foldable roof

The Lancia Lambda 8th series short chassis has an easy to use roof construction. Within the framework that's decorated with wood the construction has 2 solid support beams that can be folded to the front and clicks into the window making it user friendly and handy. The roof has stood the test of time and remains in good condition.
