The 1927 Bentley 4.5 Litre is a classic. This Bentley 4.5L has been in the same family for over 50 years. Built for speed and endurance, the owner raced and competed in rallies often and did so very successfully. Nearly a century from new, it’s still loved for its performance, and charm.

Performance

The 1927 Bentley 4.5 Litre is powered by Bentleys legendary 4,398 cc inline four engine featuring a cast iron block, aluminum crankcase, and a single overhead camshaft operating four valves per cylinder. The engine uses twin sloper carburetors and produces around 130 bhp. The engine was changed in period as logged in the cars registration book Engine number FB 3313.Known for its reliability these engines where used for racing and intercontinental travel, even today.

History

During the war this Bentley was used as an ambulance, after the war the current Touring body was fitted. Having been cherished since the early 1970s, this Bentley 4.5 Litre has remained with the same family for more than 50 years. Throughout that time, it has been carefully enjoyed, maintained, and preserved, with a remarkable collection of history records, invoices, and maintenance bills documenting its journey. The completeness of its history provides a clear and fascinating record of the care and attention the car has received over the decades, reflecting just how deeply loved and valued this Bentley is.

Engine

It was equipped with an advanced and innovative single overhead camshaft engine, which featured an aluminum block and cast iron head and had a displacement of 2570cc. The engine was designed in a narrow-V configuration, with an included angle between the cylinder banks of just 13 degrees.

Foldable roof

The Lancia Lambda 8th series short chassis has an easy to use roof construction. Within the framework that's decorated with wood the construction has 2 solid support beams that can be folded to the front and clicks into the window making it user friendly and handy. The roof has stood the test of time and remains in good condition.
