Detailed Description

A New Chapter Begins:

In 1957, Alec Mildren's journey with this Cooper racing car commenced when he acquired it directly from the Cooper factory. His intention was clear – to set the Australian racing scene ablaze. The car's participation in numerous races is meticulously documented, painting a vivid picture of its historic racing legacy.

A “Cooper Car”:

Esteemed Cooper historian Doug Nye, a recognized authority on all things Cooper, has enshrined this car in his definitive tome, "Cooper Cars." Retaining its full originality, the car proudly bears its original Chassis, Engine, and all integral technical components.

Masterfully Engineered:

Under the hood lies a 1960cc Coventry Climax engine, flexing its muscle with an impressive 190 horsepower. Conforming seamlessly to FIA regulations, this racing marvel features the rare SU DU6 carburettors, purpose-built by SU for the rigors of the track. The car's FIA Historic Technical Passport (HTP) has recently been renewed. Recent years have seen the car excel on the track, conquering challenges in both the Historic Grand Prix Cars Association (HGPCA) and various iconic Goodwood events.

Elegance Meets Performance:

A mid-1990s restoration breathed new life into the car, adorning it with the iconic Rob Walker colors, famously associated with Sir Stirling Moss during the period. Sir Stirling Moss himself graced the driver's seat during a demonstration race at the 1994 Australian Grand Prix, solidifying the car's place in motorsport history. In 2021, the car received a special invitation to partake in the Sir Stirling Moss tribute at the Goodwood Revival event, a testament to its historical significance and connection to the legendary driver. The current owner felt deeply honored to contribute to the celebration of Sir Stirling Moss's enduring impact on motorsports.

Crafted for the Driver:

This single-seater racing car offers both comfort and security, thanks to TRS 5-point seatbelts that firmly hold the driver in place. From the driver's seat, a comprehensive array of Smith gauges provides vital information. The shifter, conveniently located to the right of the driver's seat, ensures seamless control over the four gears, allowing for swift and precise shifts during high-stakes races.
